Kit List for Kilve Court Residential Monday 10^th July to Wednesday 12^th July 2023

Please do consider the time of year (e.g. sunhats, sun-cream, gloves, woolly hats). It can also be very cold in the evenings when we are carrying out activities outdoors. They do need plenty of socks as they often get wet feet and need to change. We do not expect you to go out and buy new clothes, in fact old clothes would be much better. Bedding is not provided, your child will need a bottom sheet, sleeping bag or duvet and a pillowcase. The children have to manage to carry/drag their own suitcases so please ensure they can manage them. The children will require a packed lunch on the day we go.

Please note, regardless of what time of year you go on a residential, the following five items are compulsory, and we do not expect students to come without:

• A good waterproof jacket – large enough to fit over several layers of clothing
• Waterproof over trousers
• Wellington boots with thick socks
• Water bottle labelled with child’s name
• Hat  - for cold weather and sun hat

Plenty of layers of warm, comfortable old clothing (jeans are not good for outdoor activities as they do not dry quickly), sweatshirt/tracksuit type clothing is best. Clothing that can be worn in many layers is much more flexible, and allows adjustment to the weather and conditions.

• Plenty of pairs of socks (including a long thick pair to wear with Wellingtons)
• Underwear
• Pyjamas
• Small backpack (for packed lunch)
• Outdoor shoes such as trainers or walking boots
• Indoor shoes such as slippers or trainers (only be worn inside the building)
• Trainers to wear
• Warm coat (If waterproof jacket is a thin material)
• Towel and wash kit
• Sun cream and sun hat
• Torch and spare batteries
• Camera (optional)
• A game or book for quiet time e.g. top trumps
• Three spare plastic bags to take home dirty laundry, muddy waterproofs and muddy wellies

• Teddy bear! 

No electrical devices or mobile phones!

Please ensure all your personal items are clearly labelled.

A packed lunch is required on the day we leave for the trip.
