Our School

Introduction

At St John’s we aim to make learning magical. I hope that you have had the opportunity to visit us and look at the tremendous learning environment that we are continuing to develop.

At St John’s, the staff and I are committed to learning being a happy and stimulating experience, where each child is challenged to reach their full potential.

We have, at its very heart, the individual pupil and adult alike, inspiring creative thinkers and life-long learners. Our last Ofsted in March 2017 stated, ‘Pupils behaviour is good. This is because they are well supported by the nurturing, inclusive school culture and strong pastoral care.’

Stepping inside the building you will discover a unique learning environment – inspired by and created for the children. An enchanted school where you will find Dragons and Elves – and you cannot meet the Headteacher without first walking through our Enchanted Forest where the odd fairy resides, from time to time! We encourage independence and collaboration, with an exciting curriculum to engage and excite the children.

I firmly believe that to achieve success the school and parents must work in partnership. If at any point in your child’s education you have concerns or celebrations, please share them with us, as we will with you.

Through our School Development Plan we aim to work together as a whole school community, including pupils, staff, governors and parents, raising achievements and expectations by continuing to improve the quality of teaching and learning.

I’m afraid that this website can only give you a flavour of what we are all about – please come and visit us to experience the real Tisbury ethos!

The future is not some place we are going to, but one we are creating. The paths to it are not found but made, and the making of those pathways changes both the maker and the destination.
