At St. John’s Primary our community forms part of the fabric of our school. Our continued integration with the local community results in a rich and rewarding environment for all children from pre-school through to secondary school!
Tisbury Children’s Centre provides a wide range of play activities and positive parenting to support families with young children, in a friendly and welcoming environment. Please use link below to visit their website:
Friends of St. John’s
Parents, grandparents, teachers, friends and other people from the community are welcome and encouraged to participate in the life of the school. The Friends of St John’s meet regularly to discuss ways to raise funds for the school.
The school has strong links with Tisbury pre-school which is situated on the same complex. Please see the pre-school website address below and an enquiries email address;
Most of our pupils transfer to Shaftesbury School at the end of Year 6. Shaftesbury School is a mixed 11-18 school with excellent facilities on the edge of the ancient town of Shaftesbury. Please visit their website for further details:
During years Five and Six those children transferring to Shaftesbury have many opportunities to visit the school. This ensures a smooth transition from one phase of education to another.
Parents of the transfer children are invited to Shaftesbury School for an evening during the Summer term to meet the Headteacher and to find out about the school.
St. John the Baptist Church
The Rector of St John the Baptist Church comes in to school once a week to lead collective worship and we hold special festival services such as the Christmas Carol Service and Harvest in the Parish Church. Please use the link below to find out more about our local church.
